When the earth was young, the Truro created the beautiful city of Etruria. With the gods as their advisors, for years they reign peacefully from this shining kingdom over Brisley and the surrounding counties, extending knowledge to their people and teaching them to excel outside the mundane into the arts of magic. However a dispute breaks out between THE WINGED LION OF LEARNING and SARTIS, the goddess of death who battle over teaching the dark arts, but the Centress loses the fight and is banished to Sourwood.
